EFY

I've been looking forward to being an EFY counselor since February.  I got to be a counselor for two weeks, it was one of the best experiences of my life. I learned so much about the gospel, and grew so much as a person, and spiritually as well. 

The first week I had the 16-18 year old kids in my group. It was a blast. I was blessed with amazing girls in my group, and we instantly became friends. These girls taught me so much, I will never forget them. My girl co-counselor was BEYOND AMAZING. Her name is Sharon, and I was so blessed to have her as my co for my first week. She helped me with everything! If it wasn't for her I would have gone the whole week in complete confusion. 

The first week of EFY allowed me to do things I've never done in my LIFE before such as...

1.  I broke up a moshpit... I felt pretty powerful haha

2. I broke up dirty dancing... I'd prefer never to do that again

3. Danced for three straight hours

4. Clapped so much and so hard I popped blood vessels in both of my hands haha

5. Went one week with a total of 3-4 hours of sleep per night... it was rough 

The second week I had the 14-15 year old kids. They were a hoot! It's funny how just a couple of years in age can make such a difference. Once again I was blessed with amazing girls. I am amazed at the youth of the church, and their strength and their testimonies. There was one certain girl in my group named Jackie who helped me so much. She is a recent convert to the church and she helped me realize how GRATEFUL I should be to be a part of this church. 

The boys in my group were hilarious.  They were constantly trying new pick-up lines, it was so funny to watch. These boys made my week so much fun, and kept me laughing. 

The second week my girl co-counselor was Chris. She is AMAZING. She helped me grow so much as a person. She is so strong, and has such an amazing testimony of the church. I learned so much from her. 

I'm so grateful I had the opportunity to be an EFY counselor this summer!!! It was such a great experience. I got to meet so many amazing people, and got paid for hanging out with cool kids and teaching them about the gospel. It was amazing!
