Second Grade

Yesterday I substitute taught second grade.
I was a little nervous for a FULL day with little second graders, but it turned out to be very fun :)

They begged and begged me to read to them after lunch and I eventually gave in.
After I had read a few pages they claimed that I was supposed to be wearing the hat!
Of course, how could I read without wearing the special reading hat?
It was literally so big that it was hurting my neck.
Many of the kids said that I was "the best substitute in the entire world!"
I take this very serious... haha.
It is probably because I let the students do things that their teachers don't let them do... (oops).
For example these two twin girls came up to me and asked if they could sing a song to the class.
I thought, "well why not"? Every second grade class needs a little entertainment right?
Little did I know that the two songs they would be singing is "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" and "Jolly Old Saint Nicholas".  Oh well, I guess CHristmas is only a few months away :)

Also one student is usually not allowed to build anything with his crayons during class.
Heaven forbid right?
Well when I am the "best substitute in the entire world" I may bend the rules and let Henry build a tower  during class.

I wish you were my teacher! Those children are lucky! Love the hat by the way! Miss you!
